About the Instructors and Staff
Trevor
Weaver, Founder & Artistic Director
Trevor has been teaching drama since 1992 and is thrilled
that the program has met with such accolade throughout
the Bay Area. He currently instructs a variety of drama,
voice- over and production classes for children, teens,
and adults, and counts himself among the lucky few who
absolutely love their career.
While growing up in Southern California, Trevor leapt
onto the acting scene and snapped up recurring and guest-star
roles in such popular shows as Eight is Enough,
21 Jump Street, Adam 12, Little House on the Prairie,
and Kids Incorporated.
His extensive resume also includes over 100 voiceover
credits, numerous off-Broadway stage performances, and
several successful collaborative ventures in song and
script-writing.
Trevor studied acting with the prestigious Stella
Adler Academy in New York City and Lee
Strausberg Institute of Los Angeles, and pursued
a rigorous course of study in the Visual and Performing
Arts program at San Francisco State University.
His love of improvisational theater motivated him to pursue
additonal improv courses with The Groundlings
Studio in Los Angeles and with the extremely
talented crew at Second City in Chicago.
On the rare occasions that Trevor is not obsessing over
upcoming classes, rummaging for props and costumes, or
battling rush-hour traffic on the way to his next teaching
gig, you will most likely find him perusing used-book
stores (check the drama section first), solving the world's
problems over a cup of joe, or taking in local shows and
cultural events. |

Meredith
Meeks
Meredith is thrilled to be with KTTS. She received
her BA in literature and language with an emphasis
in scriptwriting at Webster University where her
original play was chosen to be performed by the
St. Louis Repertory Theatre. With the Repertory
Theatre, she was one of the founding teachers in
the Wise Write program which introduced scriptwriting
to inner-city schools and produced plays written
by the children on the main stage. She moved to
Los Angeles and found herself working in the television
industry for America’s Funniest Home Videos,
Sherman Oaks, and The World’s Greatest Magic.
By 1999 she married Jef and started a family. She
put the world of television behind her and decided
to use her degree to teach fourth and fifth grades
as well as lead the theatre program for Manhattan
Academy, where she taught for five years. During
her time with the Academy, she led all drama programs
and acted as writer, director, musical director
and choreographer for several full-length plays
each year including Charlotte’s Web, Gold
Rush, Peter Pan, and The Wizard of Oz. In 2005,
Meredith, Jef, and their three children moved to
the bay area. Within months she found herself a
new home in KTTS. Acting as both director and musical
director she has had the honor of working with
the young actors and colleagues who participate
in KTTS programs. She feels truly blessed to be
at home with her kids each day and still be able
to direct a few evenings a week. It’s such
a dream come true.
If found stranded on a deserted island, Meredith
would be drinking a Chai latte, eating chocolate
covered caramels while listening to the Ditty Bops.
On one side of her hammock you’d find a DVD
of Roman Holiday, a journal and the entire J.K.
Rowling collection. On the other side of her hammock
you’d find several coconuts… she’d
finally get the down time to learn to juggle things
other than life. |

Katherine Tesch
Katherine Tesch has just moved to the Bay area after globe trotting the country and world for the past year. Her background in performance is wide ranging, from ballet, to fire performance, to musical theatre.
She graduated with honors from the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin in 2002, earning her BFA in dance with a focus in Modern. There she studied under professors Ed Burgess, Janet Lilly, and Andre Tyson. She also had the opportunity during that time to travel to Brisbane Australia and study contemporary dance at the Queensland University of Technology with John Utans. While in Brisbane she picked up the fire staff for the first time, and has had no inclination to put it down since, ever adding new tools and tricks to her fire performance repertoire. "I LOVE THE FIRE!!!"
Since graduating KT has been performing professionally as well as producing her own dance events and creating choreography in Milwaukee. She founded a dance program at the non-profit Bucketworks in 2004, and shortly there after founded her own fire troupe, Arson Etiquette, in 2005.
Travels have taken her from Turkey, to France, Australia, and Japan, from the Midwest to Los Angeles, New Orleans, Hawaii. Now putting down roots in California KT is continuing to pursue her artistic visions, branching out into rap and performance art while tending a whole garden of new friends. "I LOVE CALIFORNIA!"
